This pencil drawing I’ve come to share with you today is some more practice. This came from one of my favorite drawing books.
This was an exercise from a now out-of-print book on my shelf titled Drawing Basic Subjects published in 1994-1995 by Barron’s Educational Series. It’s a handy book that you can use to practice drawing skills or if you’re a newcomer to the art of drawing, it can teach you. The book itself has neat exercises in drawing with pencils, charcoal, conte crayons, etc.
Anyway, besides pencils, I used a handy tool to adding those highlights: the eraser.
Yes, you heard me right. Erasers aren’t just for correcting mistakes. You can draw with an eraser too. Use it to add highlights to objects or aid you with negative and positive space.
