Henri Matisse

Henri Matisse (1869-1954) was a French painter associated with the Fauve movement as well as Post-Impressionism.

I’ve been taking classes in gouache painting and some in that class were comparing my work, in respect to its use of color and form, to that of Matisse.  I’ve researched his work and life – this painter was considered one of the most influential figures of the 20th century art scene.

On that note, please enjoy this video displaying some of Matisse’s works.
