I thought I’d share today a personal comic that I’m working on.  This comic is a piece of personal expression.  So one might consider it to be “art” comics.  But I digress.

This is a page I’ve done pencils for (the word for a rough, unfinished comics page – before the inks are put down and the page is cleaned up).  This is from an avant-garde series I’m developing called Hilda and Richie.  The story revolves around two foxes – a young boy fox named Richie and a 20-year-old female fox named Hilda.  The two live in a big mansion in a fictitious city-state called Foxville.  And that’s all you need to know right now about the concept itself.  So how about a comics page?

AWANP pencils, page 1

As the scene opens up, Richie is in one of the huge rooms of the mansion.  He’s standing before a mirror and seems to be studying his reflection.

Richie apparently has something in his mouth.  I wonder what he could be chewing on…but alas, friends, that will have to wait until next week.
